Final prep

Before
I had originally toyed with the idea of naming this tutorial "prepress" but since I'm not a professional (unless you'd like to hire me) I really don't know a great deal about the professional prepress process. If that's what you're after (and I do know enough to recommend it) I think there are probably more detailed tutorials on the web.

This was a fun tutorial to make, because it incorporated a lot of techniques that I never knew and may never have found out about had it not been for the Prokudin-Gorskii images and their introducing me to the possibilities of color channels.

This is the last of the first three tutorials I'm putting up (April 2004), although hopefully there will be more in the future, particularly on cleaning up damage to the negatives. Even when those are finished, however, tutorial 3 will still be the final step before going to the printer (or the web), and should be done last.

The procedures here work equally well following either the first or second tutorials, depending on whether your target is web or print.
