PLEASANTVILLE, Aug. 30.Mrs. E. L. Casler, one of the best known women of the community, passed away at the family home on West State street this (Monday) morning at 7:45 oclock, following an illness of more than a year. For the past five weeks she had been unable to lie down and the end came when she was sitting in her chair. Her daughter, Miss Fern Casler, residing at home, has been ill for several days due to overwork in caring for her mother, and this evening she was reported to be under the care of a physician.
Mrs. Casler was daughter of the late Philip and Samantha Robinson and was born at Pineville on June 23, 1875. She is the first of five sisters to pass away. She was united in marriage with Elmer L. Casler at Jamestown, N. Y., on October 3, 1895, and they began housekeeping at Pineville. About 16 years ago the family moved to Pleasantville.
Mrs. Casler was a devout Christian and an active member and worker in the United Brethren church. She taught both the young mens and the young womens classes in the Sunday school for several years and sang in the choir. She was president of the W. C. T. U. for two years.
Held in High Esteem
During her long illness, Mrs. Caslers room was always brightened with flowers sent by her many friends. She bore her suffering with patience and cheerfulness, her first thought always being for her family. Besides the husband, Mrs. Casler is survived by three children, Rev. LeRoy McK. Casler, of Obi, N. Y., Miss Fern Casler at home and Mrs. Marion Dibble of this village. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Blaine Robinson of Dewey, Okla., Ralph Robinson of DuBois, Clyde Robinson and Mrs. Amos Archer of Pleasantville, Mrs. W. J. Alison of Erie, Mrs. Harry Vail of Tryonville and Mrs. B. W. Bedford of Titusville.
Services in her memory will be conducted from the home in this village at 2 p. m., on Wednesday, Rev. J. L. Strong, pastor of the United Brethren church, officiating, and the interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
The members of the W. C. T. U. will meet at the home of Mrs. Don McCalmont Wednesday afternoon to attend the funeral in a body.

PLEASANTVILLE, Sept. 1.There was a very large attendance of relatives and friends present at 2 oclock this afternoon for the services conducted in memory of Mrs. Elmer L. Casler, at the family home on State street. The members of the W. C. T. U. attended in a body and the profusion of floral tributes attested the high esteem in which the deceased was held.
Rev. J. L. Strong, pastor of the United Brethren church, conducted the services, quoting various passages of scripture as comfort to the sorrowing family and friends and based his remarks on Matthew XXV.:23. Mrs. Paul Southworth and Mrs. Robert Clark sang Jesus is a Friend of Mine, a favorite of the deceased, and A Christians Good Night. Prayer was offered by Rev. L. E. Elbel of the Methodist church.
The interment was made in Fairview cemetery, the following relatives acting as pall-bearers: Clyde Robinson, Amos Archer, Dr. B. W. Bedford, Dr. W. J. Allison, Ralph Robinson and Harry K. Vail.
